Social events and dinner
The organizing committee is ready to welcome you in Milan!!
They planned your experience in a way that you can also live a bit of the Milanese life (and Italian food, of course!)
For this reason, we are organizing the Congress dinner on Thursday, 12th, at Ristorante EL BRELLIN. This is not only a historical Milanese restaurant on the Navigli but also a special place for us.
In fact, it is located in the so-called “Vicolo dei Lavandai” taking the name of a washhouse that until the end of the 1950s was used by women to wash clothes and linen. The Vicolo dei Lavandai is an enchanting place where, with a bit of imagination, you can step back in time and envisage the workers bent over washing the clothes in the stream.
Today the rooms of the old drugstore that sold soap, bleach, and brushes to the washerwomen are home to the restaurant El Brellin which, with its fireplaces and coffered ceilings, has preserved the atmosphere of this location.
We will taste, among the others, with a glass of Italian wine, Risotto alla Milanese and the famous original Tiramisù. Allergies and special dietary requests will be communicated to the chef the same evening, to provide an alternative menu.
After dinner, we will head to the KINGS pub (5 minutes walking from the restaurant) where we will close the evening with a couple of artisanal beers or cocktails after a nice walk by the Navigli, the heart of Milan’s night.
We hope to see all of you together with us at the Congress Dinner!! Tickets are still available in the shop!

The University is located downtown in Milan (Via Festa del Perdono 7), about 30 minutes far from Linate International airport and one hour from Malpensa and Orio al Serio airports, as well as 30 minutes far from the “Milano Centrale” train station, where hi-speed international trains arrive from cities all over Europe.
From Linate Airport you can take the underground line 4 and then reach in any way you decide Piazza Duomo (La Statale University is at a walking distance from the cathedral).
From Malpensa you can take the train (Malpensa express) as well as several buses which will bring you to the Milano Railway station. We suggest you buy the return train ticket Milano Malpensa – downtown Milano (Milano Centrale or Milano Cadorna) – Milano Malpensa directly on the website at least one day before the trip (price will be 20 EUR instead of 26 EUR).
Of course, the option to get downtown by taxi is also available, but with much higher prices.
Here you can find the updated prices (Feb 2023)
From MALPENSA airport (MXP): 104 EUR
From ORIO AL SERIO airport (BGY): 116 EUR
From LINATE airport (LIN): not fixed fare, but around 25-30 EUR depending on traffic
From any railway you will take the Milano exit and follow the directory “Centro Città”. Please note that due to the very good public transport system of the town it is advisable to let your car at one of the big parking places locates close to railway stations (Famagosta if you arrive in town from the South, Molino Dorino and Lampugnano if you arrive from the North, Lampugnano underground station is the arrival place of Flixbus buses).
Milan has a very good public transport system and you can decide to reach the University by tram, bus and metro directly from the Milano Linate Airport, according to your location (Home ATM, Azienda Trasporti Milanesi) and we suggest you move by public transport during the Congress days to visit the beautiful city. Cost of the public transport ticket is 2,20 EUR and includes unlimited journeys on metro, trams and buses 90 minutes after the ticket validation.
